RANDY SMYTH

Hybrid Wing Co-designer and Test Sailor
Randy Smyth is a two-time olympic medalist whose contributions to the sport of multihull sailing spans four decades.  He has designed and built sails that contributed to winning many Olympic, World and National Championship titles, including non-stop around-the-world races.  From the Olympics, to the America’s Cup, Randy is a legend in the sailing world.

PAUL BIEKER

Head Designer
Paul Bieker is a Seattle-based yacht designer with an extensive background in structural analysis, carbon fiber structures and foiling technology.   With over two decades of experience, his ability to seamlessly coordinate a project from concept through construction is unparalleled. He is a pioneer in the use of computer lofted composite flat stock panels in the construction of economical and lightweight custom boats. Paul was an engineer for Oracle Team USA during the past five America's Cup Campaigns. He holds a Bachelors degree in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering, graduating with high honors from UC Berkeley.

ANDRÉS SUAR

Designer
Andrés Suar is a Naval Architect with expertise in multiple areas of yacht design, most specifically in sidemodelling hulls, appendage concepts, and overall hydro R&D coordination interacting with CFD.  His diverse design background allows him to contribute to different aspects of a boat's structural and system design. His work includes Head of Naval Architecture for Artemis Racing Team – AC72 – 34th America’s Cup, and naval architecture for various Volvo Ocean Race Yachts. He holds a degree in Naval Architecture from Universidad Nacional de Quilmes in Argentina.

Will Brooks

Laminate Engineer
Will Brooks is a structural engineer, specializing in composites and lightweight structures. He has competitive racing experience, including working on several America's Cup campaigns and with the Green Marine boatyard. He works closely with builders, designers, customers to produce practical, reliable and easy to build structures. Will earned his Master’s in Naval Architecture and Yacht Design from Southampton University and earned First Class Honors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Heriot Watt University.

T. Eric Goffrier

Designer
For over 20 years, T. Eric Goffrier has applied his design skills providing exterior and interior design for wide variety of custom and production yachts as well as high end residential design projects. “My ultimate goal for each project is that the client feels a deep personal connection with the finished product, and that it fulfills and surpasses their original vision.”

Eric Jolley

Naval Architect
Eric is lead designer at Bieker Boats in Seattle. He has designed a multitude of race winning yachts including AC 32-35 campaigns, Oracle’s two V5 boats, and the 120’ trimaran Deed of Gift. Eric completed the 3D modeling of structure, lofting, tooling and production drafting for Oracle’s winning AC72 foiling catamaran campaign, including lofting structure, tooling and drafting for the lifting dagger-boards and rudder wings. He is responsible for the modeling and fairing of the AC 50 hull shape used by all teams for AC35. 

Manuel Armenanzas

Design-For-Manufacturing Manager
Manuel "Manu" is well respected within the America’s Cup community of designers and builders for his meticulous and innovative approach. His specialty is constructing foils and appendages. Manu manages the construction of CNC machined composite molds and has extensive experience working with autoclave cured carbon pre-preg, aluminum, Kevlar, phenolic and ceramic cores. Before joining the FFC team, Manu worked for Oracle Team USA constructing multihulls for the last four America's Cup Campaigns.

Tomas Gonzalez

Owner, President
Tomas "Tommy" Gonzalez is a passionate sailor with well over 150,000 nm of ocean sailing experience on high performance multihulls. In 2001, he was Team Adventure’s boat captain (115’ Multiplast built by Jilles Ollier). Tommy is also an experienced project manager, overseeing the design and construction of several large high-performance multihulls such as “Sunshine,” a GB 90’ carbon catamaran launched in 2010.   

Wolfgang Chamberlain

Vice President
Wolfgang Chamberlain has over two decades of professional boatbuilding experience. A veteran of five America’s Cup campaigns including two victories with Oracle Racing, Wolfgang was also involved in the construction of the VO70 Il Mostro, and the 100’ VPLP designed Comanche.
